Well, we're sure you're probably asking yourself why, oh why have a horse in this weather but fear not, spring days are a matter of weeks away and these dark days of mud covered horses and smelly soggy rugs will soon be behind us! Your committee has had its first meeting of the year and would like to say again how nice it was to see so many of you at the AGM. Thanks must go to Jane and Cliff for their hospitality.

MEMBERSHIP
It's that time of year again. Membership fees this year will be £18 for Seniors and £13 for Juniors. A bargain we're sure you'll agree! Our Membership Secretary will be sending out new forms through the post very shortly. Please fill them in and return them with your cheque as soon as possible as these need to be sent back to the BRC very quickly in order to meet their membership deadline and you wouldn't want to miss out, now would you? If you know anyone who isn't a member but who was at the AGM and who would like to join for the first time this year, or anyone you think you would like to join please either direct them to our lovely website or tell them to contact Jenny Unwin, the membership secretary and leave their contact details so she can send them a form. Spread the word, people! Jenny's Mobile: 07795 255116 Email: T-UNWIN@sky.com

DIARY 2008
If you click on NOTICEBOARD you will find a list of all the confirmed dates for 2008 so far. We hope this will help all of us to plan around the shows, clinics etc as well as those days when we are going to need your help. We will of course be in touch nearer the time, you can be sure of that but in the meantime, this list can be printed off and pinned to your noticeboard so you donıt miss a thing!

SHOWS 2008
We have lots of exciting news re the shows. First off, we are happy to say that we have been approached by the Ex Racers Club and that as a result they will be sponsoring a class for registered Ex Racers at all three shows so if you ride an ex racer, you might want to check out their website for more information and then you too can enter! Secondly, we also very happy to announce that double clears in the jumping classes at all three shows this summer will count as qualifiers for the Pycombe Championship Show so thanks to everybody at Brendons Stud for that. Finally, given the amount of times our esteemed coach has lectured us on the importance of a proper warm up before taking your horse into the ring, there will be a dedicated warm up area at the shows this summer with an upright and a spread so we can all warm up properly as per Coach's instructions! See, we do listen!

DRESSAGE
The possibility of putting a dressage class into the show schedule was discussed and also dressage clinics. There are also BRC team dressage competitions that we could send members to starting on 24 Feb at Belmoredean, West Grinstead. We can send teams of 4 to ride Prelim 12 and Novice 27. Is anybody interested? If so, call Sue 07801228259. If there is enough interest, we can send a team but entries close Feb 15th so if you want to go, act swiftly!

TEAM SHOWJUMPING
The Indoor Novice Qualifier at Sands Farm is next month. If you can jump two rounds, one at 80cm and one at 85cm, call Sue now on 07801228259 if you haven't done so already.

PASSPORTS
Don't forget, you should never travel your horse without his passport and vaccination certificates and that Sue will need to see your up to date and valid documents before she puts you on a team! You will also need to produce these documents at any team event you attend otherwise the whole team could be disqualified. This, we can safely say, will not make you popular!

We look forward to seeing you all soon and remember, you can always come and support your club at any team event even if you're not riding!
